THE IMPORTANCE OF UNITY

For latest ethnic relation class, we have to go in front of the class and give a talk, speech or presentation about things related to Ethnic Relation. The objectives is to build our confident to talk in front. I have made a spontaneous presentation about the importance of unity and although it is not good enough, I hope we can get some input.

THE IMPORTANCE OF UNITY by MUHAMAD SYAFIQ BIN KADIRAN

Over 20 languages, 5 major races and 14 states, and we still act as ONE. 

                Malaysia is a unique country because it consists of multi-races, multi-culture and multi-religious people as part of it. I have watched a video about UNITY at youtube.com as part of the lessons and today I don’t want to talk about the video, but about the hidden message from the video that I watched. There are 3 main message that I get after watch the video which are together we are stronger, together we can live peace and harmony and together we can move forward and advance. 

                First, together we are stronger. Imagine you have a wooden stick and break it. It is easy right? But imagine you have 100 wooden sticks in front of you. Can you break it all at once? I’m stronger. But together we are strongest. Unity is not about you but it about us. If we can work together and unite, we can defend ourselves, our love one and our country. All obstacles can be resolved if we are united. And if we are strong, believe me, we can protect everything.

            Second, together we can live peace and harmony. I can live happily by myself but without my friends, I can get happiness that feel today. We all need friends. I don’t matter if you have Chinese, Indian or Malay friends, as long as they can accept and understand you the way you are. Why we need friends? It is simple. Variety brought differences and differences brought greatness. Imagine you have plate with rice, egg, vegetables and fried chicken every day, it is boring right? How about we change the menu by adding fish, meat, spices, or soup, it will great right. It is same like unity and if we can accept others, trust each other and understand them, unity among us will not be a major issue.

            Third, together we can move forward and advanced. Malaysia is far behind in term of knowledge and technology like America and Korea. It is because we are busy doing our things ourselves without having a thought to sharing. If we can share, we can generate new ideas, new thought and develop new theories. And when all this new things come together, we can compete and co-operate with others develop country. All of this can be achieved if we can unite to help the country to move forward and advance.

            Before I end my presentation, let me recall the points that I stated. First, together we are stronger. Second, together we can live peace and harmony and lastly, together, we can move forward and advance.

            I hope, you will get some input from my presentation and no matter how much you get, it is important because as a part of Malaysian, WE MUST LOVE OUR MALAYSIA.
